The God of Suddenly
“Suddenly a sound like a mighty rushing wind came from heaven, and filled the whole house where they were sitting.”
-Acts 2:2
As I began to write this blog a few days ago, I looked out of my window, then turned away for a brief moment. And suddenly the rain began to pour. I’d been brainstorming about the next topic to write about for this platform, and then God showed up. Seemingly out of nowhere the floodgates opened, and just as quickly the rain started, suddenly the rain completely stopped. Some may say that it was a coincidence however, it was God. As this rain started, I was listening to a sermon about how God will take our five-year plan and make it his five-month plan. This rain not only confirmed the topic of suddenly for this blog post, but that a lot of us are in the midst of God’s suddenly in our lives. In Isaiah God defines what he means by suddenly, and God said, “I foretold the former things long ago, my mouth announced them, and I made them known; then suddenly I acted and they came to pass.” Isaiah 48:3 In this scripture, God declares his plans and that he, and he alone will bring those plans to pass …SUDDENLY! God’s actions are always a part of his anointed and appointed timing, in order to execute his plans for our lives and our futures.
Sudden miracles that occur throughout the bible demonstrates God’s sovereignty and his divine interventions on behalf of his children. These supernatural blessings shift the trajectory of people’s lives. I like to think of this act as God showing us that he is, and will always and forever be, the great I Am! The powerful almighty Father loves each and every one of us. And he wants to put his love for us on full display, especially for those of us who have been faithful. Whether it’s big faith, little, faith, grand faith, or small faith… Keep whatever level of faith that you have in him. He who promised will deliver. His promises are yes and amen! So how do we identify God’s suddenly? My simple thought is… We don’t know when. God will reveal his promises and plans in a multitude of ways (visions, dreams, and prophecies to name a few), yet he never actually reveals his anointed or appointed time. He provides provision and resources during our journey. All he needs us to do as his daughters is to seek him, read his word, learn his character, and to keep our hope and faith in the one who always provides. “His lord said to him, “Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things, I will set you over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.” Matthew 25:23 This scripture not only confirms the reward over our faithfulness, but it also shows and reveals the reward for waiting well. Stewarding a few things shows not only faithfulness, but it shows deliberate and intentional actions towards how we manage our God given gifts with limited resources. Allow God to use you during the wait, and keep your hope, love, faith and trust in the most high.
God’s suddenly is always in due season… And ladiesssss some of us are DUE! Maybe, just maybe, God was saving some of his best miracles for last! We have been patiently waiting, cheering on everyone else around us, watching other people’s miracles and breakthroughs. Ladies for some of us, it’s time. The rain can be symbolic of a few things. The rain in this season, maybe watering seeds that we’ve planted in past seasons, and it’s time to reap the harvest. The rain can also represent a cleansing of the warfare, exhaustion, confusion, and fatigue from the growing pains, tests, and trials in the valley. Only God knows all the things that we’ve endured, and I pray that the reward comes swiftly. God’s word says, “I know your deeds, your hard work, and your perseverance.” Revelation 2:2 I pray that all our hard work pays off in more ways than we could ever imagine. Lord, I am praying for a new era for your daughters, may this shift be a transformation that impacts not only our lives, but the lives of those connected to us, and the future generations that are to come. “Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever, Amen.” Ephesians 3: 20-21 May the miraculous and sudden acts of God supersede anything that we could ever imagine. May the God of miracles, signs, and wonders, save his absolute best for last!
Always with love,
Love Esther
